how to make a audio out on a home theater receiver without one?

Renay Billiar: Your question is confusing.I think you mean "the new home theater receiver DOESN'T have a output that can go to the powered SUBWOOFER", but then you say there IS a subwoofer output (on the new HT receiver?) ???Basic answer: if there is a subwoofer out (RCA jack) on the new HT receiver and you have a powered subwoofer simply connect the two using a coaxial subwoofer cable with RCA plugs at each end. Wilmer Skidmore: There should be a way to connect those devices because those devices follow the same standards in sound outputs and inputs (most common standard is RCA).If your home theater receiver doesn't have output RCA, it might because you need to directly wire the speakers and subwoofer at the back of it.Then if you have a DVD player or something, you can output its video to your home theater receiver using component (red, blue, green) or the ! composite (yellow) rca....Show more
