Should I do Home schooling?

Elva Batie: Home schooling has many advantages over classroom based schooling. The most important being you get to learn in your own time and at your own pace.This means that if you are a disciplined and self motivated person who loves education and wants to learn for the sake of learning you will achieve far more than those who go to school.If on the other hand you find it hard to motivate yourself to do the work, you may find it easier to concentrate when you are learning side by side with other people.I had to look at schools in Britain to decide where to send my five year old child (who was four at the time) and after considering all my options I went for home education as I have heard nothing but good reports about the academic achievement and maturity of home educated children.Either way, I would strongly recommend you give it a try and see if it works for you. Jade Ohno: My 11 year old is going to the 7th grade and she participates in the California Virtual Academy which is the same one. It is an excellent program. You should at least go online and do a virtual tour of the classes your child will take. It is free and they send you all the materials needed to make their academic process obtainable. I love this program. Your teachers may live near you and you are able to contact them via in person, on line, or by phone. Your best bet is to go online and see for yourself....Show more

Norris Rosener: YES!!! Do it, you won't regret your decision. I've been home schooled my WHOLE life and I wouldn't be a cool as I am now if I wasn't. Don't listen to what people say about not having "social skills"!!! its not true because home schooled kids have! better social skills then traditional schooled kids. Plus you! will be smarter! You wont have to deal with all that peer pressure and drama. Oh you also get to sleep in! It rocks! you will love it!
