Virgil Menefee: If there is an Aldi or Lidl near you they have great value in washing powder.
Janeen Perona: Look in your store for the "store brand, knock off". Our local grocery store is Giant Eagle and they have their own detergent, they also sell their knock off called Valuetime. If your not dealing with heavily soiled items use your detergent at 2/3 of the recommended rates.
Lon Pennington: I like Arm and Hammer. Its not the cheapest but it does work well for the price.
Simona Bulwinkle: Purex! It is like $3.00 for a big bottle.
Jimmie Doerfler: The Purex powdered is very good and inexpensive, like $3.00 for a huge box and it goes a long way. That or Trend which is also a large box and costs about the same. The liquids have become too expensive and I noticed the last time I bought Ajax liquid, it was mostly water. I know it wasn't always like that because I had purchased it in the past and it was like thicker soap. The problem with the off bra! nd or cheaper brand liquids is that a small bottle costs at least $2.00 and they are watering it down now to save on costs to make it....Show more
Coleman Senn: Yes detergent smells really good and is reasonably priced.
Leontine Kreitz: Generics or Walmart has Xtra or Sunor Purexor if you google the duggars homemade laundry detergent it cost's about 5 bucks to make several batches, just in case you come across this situation again.
