Son Ahlers: No, not really. A car of that price is going to have problems. Then there's the price of insurance, gas, regular maintenance, repairs, tax, tag and title, etc. Save up around $5000 and buy something like a used Ford Crown Victoria that will last a good long while.

Rona Ising: Your annual insurance premium will be 2-3 times that much. Good Luck There are some good cars out there for $1500 but you have to really look hard to find one and should have it inspected by a mechanic BEFORE purchase.
