What is a node? (Computer networking)?

Lia Argall: a node is a processor attached to a netorkif you have a network consisting of a router and 3 computers, there are 3 nodes on the network

Kelly Bistodeau: Like John said, a node is a processor or device on the network. A node can be a printer, pc, a phone, a wireless access point, a switch, a router, any endpoint that will utilize resources from the network or possibly share resources as well.

Collin Pelfrey: NODE In networks, a processing location. A node can be a computer or some other device, such as a printer. Every node has a unique network address HOP In a packet-switching network, a hop is the trip a data packet takes from one router or intermediate point to another in the network. On the Internet (or a network that uses TCP/IP), the number of hops a packet has taken toward its destination (called the "hop count") is kept in the packet header.
