How do I reset the default program?

Robin Tommie: A while ago, after downloading something, I changed the default program that a downloaded file should open with in hope that it would help open the file. but now, everything i try to download automaticly tries to open with that program (or the last program i selected). How do I make the downloads stay as the same file type i try to download them in.I use windows vista if this makes any differencethis only happens to ZIP files, I cannot chose the program i want to load them with, i only want to save them in a location where there can be accsessed by another program...Show more

Torrie Weissenbach: In Windows XP: 1. In Windows Explorer, find a .zip file. 2. Right-click on it and select Open With. 3. If the program you want to use on the .zip files shows up, select it. 4. If it does not, click the Browse! button and navigate to its directory. 5. In either case, check the checkbox Always use the selected program to open this kind of file. 6. Click OK. In Windows Vista: 1. In Windows Explorer, find a .zip file. 2. Right-click on it and select Open With. If a menu pops up, select Choose Default Program. 3. Go to Step 3, above.
